I learned how to play poker with some friends this weekend, and I fear not using real money brought out a version of me that had way too much confidence. I was throwing chips around, calling bets I absolutely should not have been calling, and acting like I knew exactly what I was doing.

I did not. I got cleaned out BAD. Apparently confidence can only carry you so far when you barely know what hand you’re holding.
